Sancreed Parish Councillors have been working hard to give Drift Village bus stop areas a spring boost over the weekend. Thank you to all who were able to lend a hand – what a difference your teamwork has made 🙂
The old has now been fully removed for safety reasons. We were unable get permission from Cornwall Highways to refurbish it, due to its close proximity to the now extremely bust A30. Councillors have cleared the area of a great deal of old structure and foliage. The area is now much more open and safer to alight near.
The Parish Council have also been able to establish a replacement plinth and lovely cast iron Georgian style bench on the opposite side of the A30 which is now installed.
The new seating area is waiting for the installation of a large wooden planter, made by a local craftsperson, to be planted with plants to encourage pollinators and increase biodiversity.
Planters are already installed at Newbridge and are waiting to be planted up by residents.
The last stage will be the re-installation of the old finger post which was seriously damaged by a vehicle late last year. It is with a local firm of fabricators in Newlyn being refurbished before re-installation.
