Speeding traffic is one of the concerns most often raised by residents of the parish. To measure the problem and to encourage drivers to ease off, Sancreed Parish Council has installed Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) at two points on the busiest roads through the parish. When a vehicle approaches faster than the limit, the sign flashes a clear ‘SLOW DOWN’ message, and at the same time each unit quietly records the date, time and speed of every passing vehicle. We publish that data below so residents can see for themselves what is happening on their roads, and so the Council has the evidence to press for further measures where they are needed.
Where the signs are
📍 Newbridge — on the A3071 Penzance to St Just road (unit VAS112).
📍 Lower Drift — on the A30 Penzance to Drift road (units VAS108 & 109).
